John Von Neumann, Game theorist and mathematical genius
John von Neumann was a Hungarian-American mathematician and polymath who made major contributions to a vast number of fields, including set theory, functional analysis, quantum mechanics, ergodic theory, geometry, fluid dynamics, economics, linear programming, game theory, computer science, numerical analysis, hydrodynamics, and statistics, as well as many other mathematical fields. He is generally regarded as one of the greatest mathematicians in modern history.

Alan Turing. Enigma codebreaker and head of Hut 8 at Bletchley Park. Father of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Persecuted and prosecuted for being homosexual in the 1950s he died from cyanide poisoning at the age of 41. Now celebrated as pioneer and one of the most important people of the 20th Century. 2012 is the 100th anniversary of his birth and a fabulous opportunity to celebrate his amazing legacy to us all. We are so lucky, he did so much for us and should never be forgotten.
Alan Turing, (23 June 1912 – 7 June 1954) was a British mathematician, cryptanalyst and computer scientist. He is widely considered to be the father of computer science and artificial intelligence. During WW2 he devised a number of techniques for breaking German ciphers, including the Enigma codes. Turing's homosexuality resulted in a criminal prosecution in 1952, when homosexual acts were still criminalised in the UK. On Dec 23 2013 he was pardoned under the royal prerogative of mercy.
Alan Turing (1912-1954) British mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst and computer scientist. At Bletchley Park, he invented a computer to decrypt German messages encoded by the Enigma machine. He described 'algorithm' and 'computation'. His 'Turing Test' (distinguishing human and artificial intelligence), is evident in the CAPTCHA on web forms. The father of theoretical computer science and AI, he was convicted for homosexuality and suicided. The British government has since apologised
Alan Mathison Turing, OBE, FRS 23 June 1912 – 7 June 1954), was an English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, and computer scientist. He was highly influential in the development of computer science, providing a formalisation of the concepts of "algorithm" and "computation" with the Turing machine, which played a significant role in the creation of the modern computer. Oh yes, know so much about him...functionalism, artificial intelligence. Create a mind
