Hounds Of Wonder

Hounds of Wonder: A Life In Rescue Dogs is a marvelous new book of sonnets by B.D. Love, chronicling his parade of rescues over the years. These poems are sketches of Love's own dogs, but they are really meditations on all of us, and on the pain, joy, sorrow, loss, and gain that we experience throughout our lives. The original illustrations by Walt Taylor bring to life the charm and individual personalities of Love's canine subjects.

"...Death came. For months, your spirit lingered, morning and dusk. A flimsy silvan shadow shaved the edge of a glance. I recognized that dust: The dog who'd never heed the go in ghost." - from "Hounds of Wonder: A Life In Rescue Dogs" by B.D. Love. Illustrations by Walt Taylor

"When we arrived at the Central Shelter, you were last upon our list of dogs to adopt...You smelled of the street. Then you were ours...The odor passed and you grew and grew, not the petite prediction, but one and a hundred twenty pounds of bark and heart. Now cancer makes the rounds. -from "Hounds of Wonder: A Life In Rescue Dogs" by B.D. Love. Illustrations by Walt Taylor
