When serving a round layer cake, cut a circle in the middle with your knife (trace a bowl). You can then cut the outside edges into square pieces that will easily fit on a plate, followed by cutting the middle section. Also makes the cake go a lot farther--more pieces to serve! Smart!
condensed milk substitute - for if you run out and are in the middle of nowhere or need dairy free. You also can replace the flour with cornflour/starch for gluten free. - I'm also going to try egg substitute.
