145 Feet, Ships Wreck, Bi Andrea, Water Photography, Keys West, Key West, Surrealism Image, Andrea Frank, Photography Bi
Where better to view a series of photographs of a fictional, submerged world than deep underwater? Photographer Andreas Franke had to know he was seriously cutting down on the chances for a record turn-out to his show by mounting it 145 feet beneath the waves, on a ship sunk several miles off Key West.

Cumulus Consonance Study 1 by Scott Naismith I couldn't find what year this was painted, nor the artist's say in what media was used (however it appears to be oil paints). I chose this piece because I like the colour choice, with the pinks and the blues complimenting each other without being to vibrant and vigorous. I also like the artist style, inwhich he combined blending colours in a seamless manner along with the crude unblended brush strokes in the middle, thus drawing attention to the more colorful and crude middle. I also like the choice of colour, the combination of the pastel pinks and the pale blues to create a sense of calm, all the while contrasting it with the vigorous crudeness of the brush strokes in the middle. Though this piece doesnt relate to my theme, I still tend to use the colour choice and the style as an inspiration for my final piece.

New York and Los Angeles based architectural firm FreelandBuck, has created an installation titled Slipstream. Slipstream translates a 2-dimensional digital line drawing into 3-dimensional space. More like awesome science! -->Bus Roots is a living garden planted on the roofs of city buses. It’s an effort that rose out of New York City designer Marco Antonio Castro Cosio’s graduate thesis at the NYU - a prototype of the rolling gardens has been installed on the roof of the BioBus, a mobile science laboratory and the first bus with an extensive green roof system. It has been growing for five months while travelling around New York City and as far as Ohio.

green roof on a bus? such a cool idea! #greenroofs #amazing #ecofriendly #greenliving
Only a matter of time before green roofs became mobile! Bus Roots is the thesis project of an NYU graduate student. If every bus in NYC became a mobile roof garden, it would create 35 acres of new green space, more photos and project details can be found here.
