How do you teach editing with your students?...

Color-Coded Editing~ Students use a different colored pencil for checking punctuation, capitalization, transition words and especially powerful language. Must do this! They just don't get how to edit!

Here's a nice set of sentence starters for student math journals.

I use math journals in my Math Workshop. I like the idea of using Math Journal Sentence starters with my students. This would serve as a great way to incorporate writing in math and allow students to expand their thinking.

(G) "I Wish" bulletin board. 'My school bulletin board for the month. We wrote "I Wish" poems then took pictures like we were blowing a dandelion. We cut them out and pasted them next to a dandelion that we made out of yarn and sticks. The kids loved it.
