Blue Hole, Belize

The Great Blue Hole is a large submarine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll 70 km from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is circular in shape, over 300 m across and 124 m deep.

I had another Tsunami dream. I was looking at the sea shore and I saw the water recede and then a big wave coming back toward the shore.

While drilling in 1971 in Derweze (in the middle of the Karakum Desert), Soviet geologists tapped into a cavern filled with natural gas.  The ground collapsed, leaving a 230-ft hole.  To avoid poisonous gas discharge, they decided to let it burn off (thinking it would be a matter of days).  It's still burning today, earning the nickname "The Door to Hell".
