"Most days you'll need a cup of coffee and an open Bible. And you'll need to get a re-fill on both!" Tanner Olson Did you know it is possible to be a Christian and to do it wrong? Did you know it is possible for us to pursue God in the wrong way? To be a Christian yet still have something missing at the core of our hearts? Pure, Biblical Christianity is to pursue God for God. To make time for Him for the sole reason to be with Him; to be desperate for Him. We need to be sold out for God…

Couple of weeks ago I went on a drive to a beautiful town not too far from where I live called Franschhoek to clear my head a bit, but also to get away from the daily hustle of getting so many things done. On the journey I got into some really cool conversations with God and one of them was about calling and purpose. A lot of times we question our purpose and what we do for no valid reason. A slight inconvenience (or even a big one) or discomfort, or even people shouldn't get us off our…

I find it strange how we sometimes, with our own minds, create this false idea of what God wants from us. I find it so easy to pray for others, to help others and to be there for others, but somehow I got the idea that I have to carry my own burdens and my own issues; that it pleases God to see me carry my own burdens and not "bother" Him with it. I always talk to God about the things that I have going on in my life, but I never give it to Him. I never lay all the stuff in my head at His…

To be Christian is to know that you are loved by God. It is to know who you are in Christ, and that the success of your everyday pursuit to reflect that new identity doesn’t influence how loved you are. #tobechristian #youareloved

Being a Christian resembles more than just a moment, and although a moment often initiates our relationship with Jesus, it is a lifelong journey of discovering the grace, love and nature of God. Here you will see and read about the experiences and lessons I learn, on my journey as I walk with Christ. I won't sugar-coat: The Christian journey has its fair share of ups and downs and expecting an easy and comfortable journey is definitely not the wisest thing. That said, the Christian journey…

"Since nothing can be better or more than Me, because I am God, I am offering myself to you." The greatest gift that God can give us is Himself; and so He did, because He loves us that much! To be Christian means to accept and believe in God's greatest gift to humanity, Himself! #tobechristian #youareloved

We so easily create excuses to validate our fears. We all have insecurities and so often we acknowledge these insecurities because they give us comfort. I remember when I had to do my first sermon just over a month ago. The thought of it was really overwhelming and so I sought comfort by telling myself that if I fail or freeze under pressure, it will be fine because it's my first sermon and I don't really speak well in front of crowds and so the excuses came one after the other…
