Front door decoration with umbrella, flowers and spring decorations. Could prolly do this seasonally.
umbrella flowers for front door of a Mary Poppins party. An umbrella is a subliminal way to conjure up spring and April showers. Better Homes and Gardens says: “If using real flowers, create a simple vase with water in a plastic resealable bag. Secure at the base of the flower stem with a rubber band.”
April showers bring May flowers; Upcycle that old umbrella into a gorgeous front door "wreath"! -m
Spring Front Door Wreath | ... to entry doors with a unique spring wreath spring is a great time to
Perfect Modern Door Wreath/Umbrella ? MidwestLiving.com I love this fresh idea for your front door instead of the traditional spring wreath. While these look like real tulips, that wouldn’t be practical and it’s so easy to bend the stems of silk tulips to create this free flowing design. I’d use a child sized umbrella, fill the umbrella folds with moss, quilt batting or something soft and then glue in the little eggs and fill with flowers. Who’s going to try this one?
Unique bouquet idea. or a front door wreath for "April showers"

Can you believe the year is over in just 2 days!??! It's happening so fast. I still haven't even gotten my New Years resolutions down. I better get on it and quick before the festivities begin. I'll be scouring the town for some last minute holiday party decorations to bring to the party I am attending. While I would love to be ringing in my New Year at this table above, I've pulled together a few ideas NYE as decor inspiration. Balloons. A super easy and affordable way to spruce up a dinner party. I love the idea of tying balloons as napkin rings. I love the height it adds to the table, and the effect of letting the balloons go as the dinner party begins. Also, a wall of balloons is such a simple move with a HUGE statement. Tape balloons at staggering heights to create the illusion of a wall. This can also be a great way to close off any areas you don't want guests to enter. Martha Stewart Magazine the perfect palate I also LOVE the idea of personal champagne splits with fun straws. It's so much easier than having a ton of glassware out to clean in the morning, when that's probably the last thing you want to do in the AM. Throw ribbon on it and voila, party time. Also, I love the idea of taking ordinary things around the house and turning them into ice buckets. This year I am thinking of turning my gold decorative clam shell into the champagne bucket. Keeps things interesting and unique. There is nothing more fun at a party than a photo booth. Don't have the cash to shell out for a professional one? No worries. Get yourself some sparkly streamers, tape them to the wall and let people flex their selfie skills with your super cool backdrop. Ask them to hashtag your party name and create instructional signage for it. Instagram will love you for it. Let's get the party started right??!??!?!!!
happy chinese new year! [true, i am not chinese, but i'm just kicking things off for 2012.] it's a new year, people. let's get festive. let's start with a bang...or a pop, as it were. i want to highlight a major trend i'm seeing in events & design...balloons! these are not your mama's party-city-elmo-threw-up-all-over-the-sky balloons. these are chic. sophisticated even. the incarnation of "class has no price range." i've been using balloons in unique, graphic ways ever since i started out in events - but i'm loving all of the new inspiration & creativity that is emerging in the wedding & event universe with these simple, child-like, often inexpensive design elements! inspiration below. which is your favorite? ...happy sophisticating... apropos for new years. love the monocromatic color palatte and the use of mylars. super simple but the absolute mass quantity makes it so fun and chic! image courtesy of shelter interior design. love this idea - a wall of balloons. great design feature for a party, or perhaps a backdrop at a wedding or photo booth. time consuming? yes. expensive? NOPE! image courtesy of martha stewart weddings. planning a birthday surprise? go big. image courtesy of vogue italia january 2001. LOVE the jumbos. what a fun way to add some sass to a large bridal party. image courtesy of 100layercake. love the use of poms mixed in. these don't require helium, just a little maneuvering. i'd imagine they could last a long time too. i love how the colors transition from blues to purple. tres chic! image courtesy of 8foot6. ombre balloons. BRILLIANT. so simple and so chic - proof positive that you don't need a large budget to host a sophisticated party. image courtesy of jillian harris. and a close up. love this. it's a little cray cray, but so fun. the strings are tied to the inner border of the table, so they really wouldn't be that obtrusive. suddenly simple white linens become breathtaking! image courtesy of lovelornunicorn. white jumbo balloons featuring a custom monogram - from my own nuptials nearly 4 years ago! they made graphic statement in mass quantity, not to mention a whole lot of fun.
