From 1974 to 1983, he composed songs for the TV series Captain Kangaroo, the longest-running children’s program in the history of commercial network television (1955-1992). The show, which starred r, Bob Keeshan, and a menagerie of colorful characters, like MR GREEN JEANS <3

We are in the market to buy old playground equipment! We would love to keep our childhood memories alive at our house even if all the parks are saying they are not safe enough :)
Merry go round. Someone always went flying off at the elementary school field trip at the end of the year. Good times.
Now that's a good time! I remember their downfall too. Kid at school got hurt on one so they chained it up to a tree. It no longer spun around and we were told to stay off of it. A few years later it was removed from our school playground.
merry go round. Good luck finding one today. We should still have these. Kids only have these dumbed down playground equipment, makes them all sissies...
Playground days We had gravel under our playground equipment, lots of scraped up knees but we all survived. Kids playgrounds now have mulch or shredded tires to land on when they fall.
merry go round...they sure don't make playground equipment this fun (ie: dangerous) anymore. Hey kids, spin around...see if you can get your legs caught in the bars, don't mind if your body gets severed in half!
merry go round. Good luck finding one today. We had one in my hometown. I personally witnessed two broken arms among various nosebleeds, cuts bruises. Good times.
playground merry go round.... hard on the tummy to ride after lunch and kids would fall and get sucked under.

Green stamps! Those were the days. Mom gave my brother and I a wet sponge to use to stick these in the books so we could go to their store and shop for stuff.
This brings back such happy memories with my mom. She passed away when I was eight years old but I still remember her letting me lick the stamps and being in awe at all the books of stamps we managed to save. It's been 43 years but I still think of her every day : )

spent family time putting stamps on cards. Thought I was special when my mother let me put the stamps in her books.
My mother collected S green stamps, our house was decorated with items she earned/purchased.
S Green Stamps...trading stamps popular in the U.S. from the 1930s-1980s. They were distributed as a rewards program...operated by the Sperry & Hutchinson Company. During the 1960s, the rewards catalog was the largest publication in the U.S. and the company issued three times as many stamps as the U.S. Postal Service. Customers would receive stamps at the checkout counter of supermarkets, department stores, and gasoline stations, etc., which could be redeemed for products in the catalog.
Part of our history....It was always so much fun to go to the green stamp store.
I remember putting the S Green Stamps in the little booklets for my Mom.
