Eugene Delacroix, French painter 1798-1863. Delacroix was the leader of the French Romantic school, His pioneering use of colour and expressive brush strokes gave shape to the impressionist movement, and his love of exotic subject matter and use of colour inspired the Symbolist Movement. A great painter.
Jules-Cyrille Cavé (French, A Parisian, Cave was a pupil of William-Adolphe Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. He was elected to the Salon of French Artists in 1886 and won bronze medals in 1889 and 1900 for genre scenes and floral still lifes.
