Great alternative to just candy canes on the tree, definitely a good kids activity too!

Peppermint Candy Christmas Ornaments Line pan with parchment paper. Place candy in cookie cutters. Bake 350 - 10 to 15 min. Remove when candy is melted together. Spray toothpick & make hole in candy. When hard, remove cutters.

DIY wall art project: kids can glue & place buttons inside a simple silhouette shape of larger animal, and sign a gift card with corresponding image (thank you for your silent auction purchase - proceeds to benefit our school)

I did this with 24 very squirrely 1st graders and it surprisingly went very well.I would recommend "gluing" the cone to the plate 1st with icing.
