MADE IT! And we really liked it. Would suggest using more meat than you ordinarily would because this gets so tender that you arent really left with actual whole pieces of steak. A little work on the front in, but if you use a crockpot liner, clean up is a breeze. We ate this open-faced style with mashed taters spread on sliced bread, topped with the meat & gravy. Veggie side. Yum-O :)
Hamburger gravy or like my grandma calls it Potato hash. Maw's take on it: combine meat and gravy with potatoes that have been cooked down and serve over rice. Yea I know...double starches (it is a Louisiana thing)
Pork Chops. My mother has made these forever and we LOVE them. I use one can of GOLDEN mushroom soup and one can of cream of mushroom soup. It has to be Campbells. We serve it with mashed potatoes or egg noodles. I always use thin pork chops with the bone in. This recipe is 'mommy' to me:-)
Beef in Onion Gravy This is great over mashed potatoes. 1 can cream of mushroom 2T onion soup mix 1 lb beef stew meat 2 T beef broth Combine all ingredients and cook on low 6-8 hours. Serve over noodles or potatoes.
