The brief of this project was to co-design a solution that could aid people suffering from the communication disability aphasia and their carers. Through engagement with both the carers and aphasiacs it became clear that the source of many of the issues they faced in their daily lives was to do with lack of awareness. As a response a short film was made that portrayed what it's like living with aphasia.
During the project we met with the participants several times with the aim of understanding the issues they faced because of their language impairment and to co-create appropriate solutions to these issues.
During the project we used cultural probes to understand better the daily lives of people with aphasia and their carers. Cultural probes were chosen as the method as they allowed us to give the participants the space and time to communicate to us the things that they might not had the opportunity to say during the face-to-face meetings.
