Possible book club read. Another pinner said...Year of Wonders, by Geraldine Brooks. You feel like you are living it. The main character is a self-taught midwife during the plague...one of the best books I've read the last few years. I plan to read more of this author's books.

Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks. When an infected bolt of cloth carries plague from London to an isolated village, a housemaid named Anna Frith emerges as an unlikely heroine and healer.

One of the best books I've ever read. I'm usually not into historical books but this was amazing. I recommend this to everyone.

THOSE WHO SAVE US, by Jenna Blum. Based in Germany- a novel about a German mother who does the unthinkable to save her daughter.and the daughter's quest 50 years later to find out exactly what her mother did.

This one counts as my "a book by a favorite author" for the reading challenge. If you love historical fiction, I absolutely recommend reading SECRETS OF A CHARMED LIFE by Susan Meissner. Even if you don't like historical usually, give this one a try! My review here: http://www.undergodsmightyhand.com/2015/02/book-review-secrets-of-a-charmed-life-by-susan-meissner.html
