While studying ecosystems in science, I had my 4th grade students make "trioramas" of 4 different habitats. Complete with living & non-living elements.

Great for teaching ecosystems. OR a great project for habitats. Give each student an animal and have them recreate the habitat.

5th grade science anchor chart food chain with producers, consumers, and decomposers.

Could have used these for my human body unit! Save them for next year!

Human Anatomy: The Digestive System "This week’s topic was the digestive system. The kids (and I ) learned the basics of this important system of our body. We did a couple of digestive system experiments and watched a short digestive system video. Here are the highlights:" plus links to resources! BINGO, this is exactly what we needed to find for our lesson on digestion!

Human Anatomy: The Digestive System - Spell Out Loud

This link shows how to make a life-sized human body map. Students trace their own body then make and place their bones and organs within the tracing where they would be inside their actual body. Label, color code, and use texture. This is a great way to teach and asses students' understanding of the human body.

This is a FREE name that animal based on its skeleton presentation. It helps reinforce that the skeletal system helps provide the form of the animal. A skeleton is shown and then the students try and guess the animal. This set of slides is one very small part of my skeletal system lesson. Link to FREE .ppt provided in pin info.
