It is a well written page turner, but I was frustrated by Lavinia's inability to change the trajectory of her life.

Angela's Ashes is one of my all time favorite books. I could not put it down, and then could not wait for the chapter in Frank McCourt's life.
Angela's Ashes: A Memoir by Frank McCourt, http://www.amazon.com/dp/0780747550/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_qPTVpb1FTCCQ3

Angela's Ashes one of my favorite books! My best friend borrowed to read, and bless her heart, she attending a book signing for Frank McCourt and had it autographed for me........
Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. Probably my favorite memoir of all time. You're laughing and crying, and laughing and crying at the same time.
Frank McCourt's series of autobiographies are fantastic (Angela's Ashes, 'Tis, and Teacher Man). These are some of my all-time favorite books: funny, thought-provoking, and heart-rending. McCourt's style is so easy and his stories so expertly told that I often forget I'm reading non-fiction.
Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt one of my favorite books to read growing up.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. This is only a Book Worth Reading if you are interested in a well-written story for teenagers. Snappy dialogue, appealing characters, young love, heartbreak, drama, etc. . . . I can see myself loving this book fifty years ago, but I've grown up, and I'm more critical of contrived smaltzy stories with unlikely plot lines.

My book club, “Child of the 80s”, met to discuss Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel “The Goldfinch”. This instant classic is the story of Theo Decker, a boy who survives a terrorist attack, but is burdened with his own chance theft of a famous painting. The novel melds high and low culture, leaving no stone unturned. For me, “The Goldfinch” was seven-hundred-plus pages of candy, but also a thoroughly satisfying and nourishing meal.
