Rotary Dial, 70 S, Childhood Memories, Memory Lane
Rotary Dial~ Phone numbers used to be according to letter, e.g., Lincoln 54321 So the phone number was 545 321 and that's why we originally had letters on our rotary phones.
Rotary dial phones. I can remember when my home phone number had an "exchange" ... SW7 . Man I'm OLD
...rotary dial phones! Remember having to start over when you dialed wrong and the sound of the dial after removing your finger. No auto dialing. Had to dial each phone number from memory or look it up.
...rotary dial phones. Now this takes me back! But I had phones before we had rotary dials! You would pick up the phone and the operator (my mother was one) would ask who you wanted to be connected with! My dad was very instrumental in our state working for the Bell Co - in converting most of the state to Direct dial with a rotary phone!
...rotary dial phones with numbers and letters. phone numbers used to start with letters like MA3 and MA stood for mayfair.
...rotary dial phones. My first phone number started with UN4. It stood for UNiversity 4. We also had the exchanges BLackstone 3, FRanklin 6, and WAlnut 8.
Rotary dial phones. NO ONE I WORK WITH REMEMBERS THESE!! (THEY ARE ALL CHILDREN) I remember when our phone number was "Tucker-three, 9241!"
...rotary dial phones! Phone Numbers began with a prefix name such as Riverside 7 (abbreviation RI7-2345). No area codes!

NBC peacock. I remember watching this when I was a kid. It was a signal that I was glad we had a color TV.
NBC peacock in the 70's ... when color TVs came out, this peacock was the most beautiful thing to see! So remember this!
NBC peacock- As we watched this animation on our black and white TV, I remember my dad saying "I've heard this is really spectacular in color."
NBC peacock, I remember the first time I saw this - it was color on tv- I thought it was so beautiful.
old nbc peacock - of course didn't see this at home because my parents didn't have a colored TV until the 80's!
NBC - Proud as a Peacock! I remember when these were being broadcast ... and we still had a black and white TV. It made a lot more sense when I saw it on a color set. :)
the NBC Peacock " In living color" I so remember this coming on just before a show that was in color.
NBC peacock in the 70's ... when color TVs came out, this peacock was the most beautiful thing to see! Over time, the peacock has been replaced just by colors representing its bright and beautiful plumage and NBC remains as one of the national leaders in tv.

easy bake oven - probably my favorite toy. I actually had to hunt one down on ebay for my then 9 yr old who wanted one like mommy. How do I explain Santa can't do that? I did find one in great shape and she used it for years.
Easy Bake Oven from the sixties when you baked a cake with a lightbulb. I think someone gave my parents one of those because I know we could never afford one with 7 kids. I DO remember the little light bulb!
Easy Bake Oven -sorry dinner will be late...need to run down to the corner Mom 'n Pop to get a light bulb
Easy bake oven. It is crazy to expect a 7 year old to have the patience to wait for a light bulb to bake a cake.
Easy bake ovens were a popular invention of the 60s. Easy bake ovens are children's toys that teach them how bake safely- using a lightbulb to heat it up.
The Easy Bake Oven--yet another invention that kids fell in love with! No mother (sane mother) would allow a little kid near the oven. Now, they can bake their own goodies! This toy provided hours of fun time. Working only with an incandescent light bulb as the heat source, kids were able to bake cupcakes. http://www.toyhalloffame.org/toys/easy-bake-oven
This was the easy bake oven I had as a child. Compared to how I bake today? Yep, this was WAY easy. What fun I had with this oven...who knew a light bulb could bake a cake. ;)
