Edited by Robert Klanten and Hendrik Hellige, The Modernist is best summarized as an expansion on our understanding of what modern graphic design can be. When Alice is driving to her sister's college and see's a group of black men she tells her mom she feels like shes slept with every single one of them. Alice associates the face of her rapist with other black men she encounters. She also feels as if rape will always be apart of her life.
