On the morning after Kristallnacht, local residents watched as fire destroyed the synagogue in the village of Ober-Ramstadt. The local fire department prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby home, but as what happened all across Germany, did not try to limit the damage to the synagogue.

Two brothers, Avram and Emanuel Rosenthal, five and two years old, shortly before they were taken from the Kovno ghetto in Lithuania and murdered at Majdanek concentration camp. I just happy they didn't have to suffer through as bad as everyone else.
