“Native Americans” is a Social Studies lesson designed to teach upper elementary students about the impact that Westward Expansion had on the lives of the Native Americans of the Great Plains. Students read an original, content-rich informational text featuring historical photographs. Two foldables are included in the lesson – comparing life before and after Westward Expansion, and examining how dependent their lives were on the buffalo.
This fantastic lesson plan on the Mexican American War & the Battle of the Alamo includes a PowerPoint and printable graphic organizer of the Alamo so students can take notes about what went on INSIDE and outside the Alamo during the war. Great to help students visually engage with the material and work hands on!
