Beautiful Joe - one of my favorite book (oral book report in 7th grade!) Beautiful Joe was a real dog from Meaford, Ontario, that had been terribly abused. Margaret Saunders heard his story from her sister-in-law, whose father had saved the dog. Saunders wrote the story of his life (published in 1892) which was, like Black Beauty, written in first person - in first page Joe observes, "I have seen my mistress laughing and crying over a little book that she says is a story of a horse's life".

The Thirteenth Tale, 2006. It's unlike any book I've yet read and doesn't fall into an easy book 'category' - suspenseful, psychological, eerie, has gothic atmosphere (but not derivative or melodramatic), strong story-telling, a book about books, about isolation, about self-discovery ~ by Diane Setterfield = 5 stars

Love You Forever by Robert Munsch "I'll love you forever. I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." Such a beautiful sentiment in this story. Is this one of your favourites too? #Kids #Books #Love_You_Forever #Robert_Munsch
