Scientists have discovered the first binary system ever known to consist of a black hole and a ‘spinning’ star – or more accurately, a Be-type star. Although predicted by theory, none had previously been found.

Discovered by William Hershel in 1789, Enceladus is the sixth largest moon of Saturn. It appears as a small, faint speck through a telescope and until recently not much was known about this mysterious world. The two Voyager spacecraft were the first to uncover the hidden secrets of the Saturnian moon, those which were out of reach from astronomers on Earth. The spacecraft captured the first ever close up images of Enceladus revealing a beautiful and diverse surface of water ice.

NASA has just published what it calls the “most amazing highest resolution image of Earth ever”, dubbed Blue Marble. click on this thing...it's huge.

The massive, young super star cluster, called R136, is only a few million years old and resides in the Tarantula Nebula, a turbulent star-birth region in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way. There is no known star-forming region in our galaxy as large or as prolific as the Tarantula Nebula.
