A nod to groups and individuals around the planet doing something about litter polluting our planet. Let's connect and share ideas and inspiration. Together we…
I went out to pick up #litter and ended up picking up a new litter picking friend! Driving along a rural road I spotted a woman picking up litter on a wide swale so of course I stopped to say hi and thank her. Maggie L and I ended up picking up litter together in downtown Kissimmee, FL. As I dropped her off at home, I said how brave she was getting in the car with me...a perfect stranger. She looked me in the eye and said she could just tell we were soul sisters. Nice.
Sharon Lanier of Lanier's Antiques in Kissimmee, FL,is a big recycler & picks up #litter at least five times a week. She picks up along a 2.5 mile stretch of Neptune Rd and is joined by her daughter Angela Mitchell and friend Joe Taylor. Thanks to all of you for keeping Kissimmee clean.
Jo Atherton @Flotsamweaving collects #litter on the coast of Sheringham, Norfolk, UK, on the East Anglian coast. She creates art from littered fishing line, twine, nets and other random plastic objects. See her work at http://www.flotsamweaving.com and follow her on twitter @FlotsamWeaving, and like her Flotsam Weaving Facebook Page.
Kim from Jacumba, CA. At seventeen she was a camp counselor and had to write a paper about what she would do to help the planet and sign it. She committed to never litter and to pick up litter.wherever she saw it Thanks for setting a good example.
Adorable litter picker Katelyn Sesack MADE MY DAY! I was in the @YellowstoneNPS branch Post Office mailing #litter art to a customer and the PO wasn't set up to take credit cards. I had very little cash on me and beautiful (inside & out) Katelyn whipped out cash and paid for the shipping. I accepted her offer as a *donation* to Museum of Litter. Generous Katelyn picks up litter in Yellowstone and in her hometown of Denver (where I believe she said she works with Greenpeace). THANK YOU Katelyn!
