Catholic Father and blogger writes about finding out more about GirlScouts. "At the time I wrote my article, my daughter was still in GSUSA, but while our local leadership was good and she enjoyed it, the troubling materials coming from the national organization (and the knowledge that our dues were going to support WAGGGS) didn’t sit right with us. Blessed Pope John Paul II. Heartbreaking to see him cry. Can't help but ponder what made him weep in this way.

This is how it should be. But let us not forget also the REAL reason for the welcome: we ALL need Jesus. Those who feel alienated need Him as much as we do, & vice versa. Why we have dogma, doctrine, discipline, prayer, and ritual is so that we all can see Jesus more clearly and to know that He seeks us also; all the better to know, love, and serve Him and remain in Him. The Church gives us these things not to put us down, but so we can all have Jesus, and know more fully why we are all welcome.
