The Legends of the Titantic have never failed to interest all who reads....I think the golden memories of the people whose lives were lost live on in Rememberances such as this. I vow to find my dad's aunt, and research her name, who was lost with the ship, on that fateful night.

Titanic at 100 years

Titanic's First Officer William McMaster Murdoch, who is treated as a local hero in his native town of Dalbeattie, Scotland, but was portrayed as a coward and a murderer in the multi-Oscar winning movie, Titanic. At a ceremony on the 86th anniversary of the ship's sinking, Scott Neeson, the executive vice-president of the film's makers 20th Century Fox, presented a check for five thousand pounds ($8,000 US dollars) to the Dalbeattie school as an apology to the bridge officer's relatives

Titanic Charles Joughin passenger, stepped off the bow and never got his head wet. He had two bottles of whiskey in his pockets and survived being in the water for 3 hours. They believe that was due to the whiskey.

The memorial to the Titanic Crew was subscribed for by the people of Southampton and unveiled on the 27th July 1915. it is shown here in its original position on the Common. It now stands in Holy Rood Church.
