How this teacher manages: instead of having classroom jobs, she had a boy and girl "helping hand" of the day. The two helpers were responsible for all of the classroom jobs (line leader, door holder, running errands, etc.) Just write each students' name on a cutout of a hand and hang the hands on the wall and flip the hands each day. It is such a super easy system, and it works out so that students get to be a helper about once every other week.

New year, new school, new ideas! - Princess Artypants

I love this spin off of the colors especially since I had to remove my duct tape from the chairs because a few kids were allergic! I think I will hang the pictures from the ceiling above the desks instead of taping it on.

I wanted to share this simple and inexpensive idea with you! I made these "we're ready" light buttons to use next year! (Even though I haven't finished packing my classroom! ) I plan to use them to hold all students in each group accountable for getting ready to learn! I'll use them to signal when groups are ready to share their thinking, when they all agree on something, or ready for transitions. #teachers #iteach #iteachtoo #teachersofinstagram #teachersfollowteachers #teacherspayteache...

CLASSROOM ORGANIZATION~ Make a set, or buy an inexpensive set, of team trash bins. Great idea for keeping students from hopping up to throw away one scrap at a time.
