Flying Snakes... and Leaping Lizards ... a great video that captures the flight of two rainforest flyers.

In this video we see a base jumping snake and a Flying Dragon Lizard! Unbelievable it might be but when this sanke eyes up our lizard as lunch the Flying Dragon Lizard spreads his wings [literally] and flies out of danger!

Pangolins are scaly anteaters that forage the forest for insects. They are in peril due to massive hunting for meat, scales and skin to use in traditional medicines. Don't buy any products made with pangolin parts. Let's keep these cool creatures in the rainforest, not in a bottle or on a plate.

Southeast Asia's pangolins are being wiped out across the region, for their meat, skins and scales, used in traditional Chinese medicines.

Visit the mangroves and wetland swamp of Kuala Selangor Nature Park to see raptors, water birds, mudskippers, fiddler crabs and monkeys. A good day outing from KL in combination with the fireflies at Kampung Kuantan and some good local seafood eats while you wait for the sun to go down.

Observations at Kuala Selangor Nature Park include mangroves and marshlands and an array of wildlife such as monkeys, raptors, fiddler crabs, wading birds, and mudskippers.

Well the fireflies do look much prettier in person at Kampung Kuantan, just a half-hour away from Kuala Selangor Nature Park and an easy day-evening excursion from KL. It's a nice, quiet outing in the outdoors after a day in the sun.

One of my favorite pieces of interactive art: “You Who Are Getting Obliterated in the Dancing Swarm of Fireflies,” by Yayoi Kusama. You can see it at the Phoenix Art Museum.

Living life among the trees, orangutans move through the layers of the forest canopy searching for fruit, leaves and bugs.

Palm Oil companies have already cleared over hectares of land alongside the Sekonyer River and Tanjung Puting National Park, killing at least 22 wild Orangutans.

Young orangutans are captured during logging operations or forest clearance to serve as pets. Rehabilitated orangutans require a quarantine period as a health check-up before joining the group.

WWF-learn about unsustainable and illegal wildlife trade. With overexploitation being the second-largest direct threat to many species after habitat loss, WWF addresses illegal and unsustainable wildlife trade as a priority issue.
