Cat's Eye Nebula ...Cosmos is a Greek word for the order of the universe. It is, in a way, the opposite of Chaos. It implies the deep interconnectedness of all things. It conveys awe for the intricate and subtle way in which the universe is put together.
This is probably the most amazing photo you will see of the Orion nebula's center, a cloud of gas and dust known as M42. The work was created by Adam Block at the Mount Lemon Sky Center observatory in Arizona. Image: Adam Block/Mount Lemmon SkyCenter/University of Arizona
This image from the Hubble Space Telescope clearly shows the equatorial rings of Uranus, a southern cloud deck and a bright cloud in the northern hemisphere. Uranus is unique in that its axis is tilted to align with the solar system elliptic plane.
Hubble picture shows 'space rose' flowering - actually two galaxies colliding 300 million light years away
The Einstein Rings. The Hubble Space Telescope revealed a never-before-seen optical alignment in space. The pattern caused by the bending of light from 2 distant galaxies strung directly behind a forground massive galaxy, like 3 beads on a string.
Celestial Fireworks - Hubble by Deep Space Photography - Resembling the puffs of smoke and sparks from a summer fireworks display in this image from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, these delicate filaments are actually sheets of debris from a stellar explosion in a neighboring galaxy.
