The lighthouse Robbenplate was built in 1924/25 in Aubenweser, N.W. of Bremerhaven, Germany. In 1959, the first radar antenna was installed to secure navigation in the outer Weser. In 1992, the brick skin was boarded with aluminum panels to protect the building fabric from erosion. The lighthouse is now automated and has since been uninhabited. The equipment of the former lighthouse keepers have been completely preserved, so that maintenance crews can use the former keepers quarters.
