MIT : The Smarter Objects system explores a new method for interaction with everyday objects. The system associates a virtual object with every physical object to support an easy means of modifying the interface and the behavior of that physical object as well as its interactions with other "smarter objects". As a user points a smart phone or tablet at a physical object, an augmented reality (AR) application recognizes the object and offers an intuitive graphical i
SECOND SURFACE: MULTI-USER SPATIAL COLLABORATION SYSTEM BASED ON AUGMENTED REALITY (IN COLLABORATION WITH TANGIBLE MEDIA GROUP)
SECOND SURFACE: MULTI-USER SPATIAL COLLABORATION SYSTEM BASED ON AUGMENTED REALITY (IN COLLABORATION WITH TANGIBLE MEDIA GROUP) by Fluid Interfaces. An environment for creative collaboration is significant for enhancing human communication and expressive activities, and many researchers have explored different collaborative spatial interaction technologies. However, most of these systems require special equipment and cannot adapt to everyday environment. We introduce Second Surface, a novel mult
Bowery Wall Mural Resurrections by The Heavy Projects, New York, Augmented Reality (video). In 1982, Keith Haring painted the first mural on the Houston & Bowery Street wall in New York City. Since the original Haring piece, the wall was bombed by ads and tags. However, in 2008, the wall was restored through the hard work of the wall's owner Tony Goldman and curator Jeffrey Deitch.
Wynwood Walls - Augmented Reality
Urban Art, Miami - Augmented Reality (video). Wynwood Walls Miami (Art Basel) by The Heavy Projects. As part of the Re+Public collaboration between The Heavy Projects and Jordan Seiler's Public Ad Campaign, during the Art Basel event, Heavy digitally augmented and animated five murals (How & Nosm, Aiko, Retna, Ryan McGinness, and Momo). Additionally, we resurrected the Shepard Fairey mural that he recently painted over. This project was in collaboration with Goldman Properties.
