Today marks 12 years since the U.S. launched Operation Enduring Freedom on Oct. 7, 2001. Since then, more than 20,980 North Carolina National Guard Soldiers & Airmen have been deployed in time of war. Let's all remember all those Service Members that have since taken the oath to serve and protect our country and those that paid the ultimate price to keep us safe!

Soldiers of the 151st EN Co. in Afghanistan received care packages from home thanks to local eagle scout Jamie Tippett's project. Tippett's father is in the NCNG, & with the help of Murphy-Brown LLC who paid the shipping costs, they're helping to make this Valentine’s Day a little brighter. “With my dad being in the military, I knew how much it meant to them to receive something from home,” Tippett said.
