You could use the tension rod across the back of a cabinet as well. I don't have large drawers. pot lids are held in place by a tension rod placed across the front of a drawer.

Dog food cabinet! I would have a lid on top though.

Hidden Dog Food Bin -This would be so functional and fantastic that it's hidden in a mud room, the kitchen, or the pantry. For my small dog, even a dog food drawer to house food and treats.
