I caught this one on Audible. The narration is great. Cutting for Stone, chronicles a couple generations of a family, more specifically two brothers who eventually become doctors. The Indian diaspora into East Africa and beyond, in post colonial times, is also hugely central. Some of my fellow book club peers complained about the medical jargon but I found this interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in an epic story with multicultural influences.
A slightly difficult start, but push on through because it's well worth reading
Still Alice. Beautifully written book about a 50 year old Harvard professor who experiences early onset Alzheimer's disease.

Still Alice by: Lisa Genova An absolutely amazing book! I found myself truly feeling everything Alice felt as she was experiencing her symptoms increase throughout the development of her Alzheimer's. This made me feel and experience what my grandmather felt.

Mockingjay was the weakest of the three books in Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games Trilogy IMO, but it is still a decent book & worth reading, if for no other reason than to finish the story. 3/5 stars.

Mockingjay: The Final Book of THE HUNGER GAMES - What a satisfying journey that the Hunger Games novels takes you on. Being a visual person, my mind has been racking on to what this novel and Catching Fire are going to look like on the Big Screen. Hinds' Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard This book is a beautiful allegory dramatizing the yearning of God's children to be led to new heights of love, joy, and victory. The main character, Much-Afraid, is plaqued by fear and doubt. Travel with her on her spiritual journey through desperate times and difficult places with her two companions, Sorrow and Suffering. Learn how Much-Afraid overcomes her torment and develops the kind of relationship with her Lord that he desires for us all.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot-A true story of the woman whose cancerous cells changed the medical world, yet her family knew nothing about it.
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor black tobacco farmer whose cells—taken without her knowledge in 1951—became one of the most important tools in medicine, vital for developing the polio vaccine, cloning, gene mapping, in vitro fertilization, and more. Henrietta’s cells have been bought and sold by the billions, yet she remains virtually unknown, and her family can’t afford health insurance.

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife." So begins Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen's witty comedy of manners--one of the most popular novels of all time-- that features splendidly civilized sparring between the proud Mr. Darcy and the prejudiced Elizabeth Bennet as they play out their spirited courtship in a series of eighteenth-century drawing-room intrigues. One of my favorites! The type of love story that doesn't get old.
a wonderful book worth reading over and over again

Pride and Prejudice (Modern Library Classics) by Jane Austen, http://www.amazon.com/dp/0679783261/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_fERLqb1FCW9Y2
Gothic Novels. This would be a cool idea to do. A lot of people associate "gothic" to the dark side, and a way of life, but there was a Gothic period that pushed out great literature. It would be nice to do a book display to differentiate the two :)
Pride and Prejudice. I cannot even begin to count the number of times I have read this book. Do people know some "classic" books are funny/satirical? Jane Austen puts a great deal of humor into her books. Her characters are odd and quirky. They behave in unusual ways. The dialogue is snappy and funny. There are characters you love to hate, and there are characters you will love forever (Mr. Darcy...).

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. One of my favorite books and movies!
The notebook / Nicholas Sparks / Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story-it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again...
The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks - The story begins with an older man who is reading to a woman who suffers from Alzheimer's. It's a good book, an easy read, but be prepared to cry.
#TheNotebook - Nicholas Sparks This book made me cry so much. It is so well written and a quick read. You can relate to the characters and find yourself getting mad at the decisions they make. If you love romance then you should read this book.
