Wow - hard to say much without giving too much away. Love blinds you into thinking you are doing the right thing especially the love you have for your child. Hard to put this book down.

Little Mercies by Heather Gudenkauf

Hidden Girl- Shyima Hall- a young girl sold at age 8 into slavery to pay off a sisters debt, never realizing she might never see her parents again. She is a strong girl and I respect what she went through. Her life was hard, but the things she has accomplished are wonderful. I read this book in a day.

Where She Went (If I Stay novel)

Jodi Picoult

"Die Empty: Unleash Your Best Work Every Day." The overall idea – that one should give it all one has and add value for other people – is a good one, but the details are a little weak.

Think Like a Freak - the first book felt like they had a ton to say; the second like they wanted to finish ideas left from the first; this one like they had to come up with a book- weakest of the three

Inspired by the true story of early-nineteenth-century abolitionist and suffragist Sarah Grimké, the moving story of two women inextricably linked by the horrors of slavery. Excellent read! 4/12/14

Loved this book. It was a great read and hopefully it will create good discussion with our book group.
