Architecture and design firm SGA has new leadership at the helm. The Boston-based firm, founded in 1991 by Al Spagnolo, Jeff Tompkins, and Bill Gisness, will now be led by equal owners: CEO Adam Spagnolo; Gable Clarke, president of interior design; and John Sullivan, president of architecture. Al Spagnolo, meanwhile, will transition to a role of chairman. Read more in the link attached.

For our Jewel project in Surfer’s Paradise, Australia, the Oppenheim team let the landscape itself define the architecture. Like archeologists excavating a site, it was crucial for us to understand and uncover the spirit of place—the site’s history and geology—so the architectural “object” wasn’t an arbitrary form, but one that resonated with the land and its people. Introducing Vallonné and Vallonné Opale: the first collaboration between 700-year-old Italian lighting brand Barovier&Toso and multidisciplinary designer, Luca Nichetto. The two dazzling new collections of suspension lamps exemplify the brand’s steady pursuit of combining old-world heritage and innovation. Inspired by an iconic Venetian design that typically utilizes a metal cage to create and maintain its form, in a rare feat of engineering, the new lamps are crafted without metal cages.
