Why have I never thought of this?!!! Upcycled Three Drawer Bookcase
Image above: One of our absolute favorite pieces in the apartment is this blue chair. Our apartment building is a large high-rise, and on occasion, we have been able to find treasures out of other people’s trash. We found the bones of this chair with a tattered fabric in the trash. We had a vision to reupholster it in a luxurious blue velvet. We also knew we wanted the chair high off the ground, so we bought these wooden legs and painted them to match the feel we were going for.
This dresser originally had a sad light wood finish all over. My husband and I sanded it down, painted the outside of the piece a glossy white and then restained the drawer fronts a dark walnut color. A herringbone stencil down the middle drawers completed the transformation.
