The UP Series: I haven't seen this yet, but the premise: follow 14 kids and ask them about their life ambitions. Follow-up every 7 years for their whole life.

The premise behind the Up series is deceptively simple: take a cross-section of children at age 7, ask them about their hopes for the future, and then return every seven years to mark their progress. However, the results of these experiments, launched in 1963 by Britain's Granada Television, are anything but mundane, and their revelations about society, maturation, and the human condition were compiled into six extraordinary films, packaged together for the first time in this five-disc set. The Up Series: Found this through Joanna Goddard at A Cup of Jo... sounds fascinating! I would like to see all of these!
The Up Series - What a cool idea, and a long time running. Checking in with the same people every 7 years, since 1964
This series follows the lives of 14 British children since 1964, when they were seven years old. They come from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. The children (now adults, of course) have been filmed every 7 years, with the next installment "56 Up" expected to come out within the next couple of years. The question: How strongly does class structure determine a child's path for life? Quoted throughout the film: "Give me a child until he is 7, and I will give you the man."
I thought this was a great movie. Terrific acting and super stylish

The title character, Amelie, (Audrey Tautou) is a waitress who decides to help lonely people fix their lives. Her widowed father yearns to travel but won’t, so to inspire the old man she sends his garden gnome on a tour of the world; she brings together two cranky regulars at her café; she reverses the doorknobs and reprograms the speed dial of a grocer who’s mean to his assistant. Gradually she realizes her own life needs fixing, & a chance meeting leads to her most elaborate stratagem of all.

'Pulp Fiction' Infographic Puts Things in Order, Beautifully Sort of Complicates Things - This is a Pulp Fiction poster, designed by Noah Daniel Smith, that stylishly lays the Quentin Tarantino film's disjointed narrative out in chronological order. If you were to print it out and die, it would also work well as a board game to teach your kid about gimps, murder, and ass-watches. They're never too young to learn. Have a look at the full thing.

Pulled out my DVD of Eddie Izzard's Dress to Kill show today (as I know almost every word of this by heart, it was good background noise while doing work). I love love love the routines in Dress to Kill. While some of them are a bit dated now (i.e., the couple of jokes about President Clinton), this is just as funny as when we would obsessively watch it high school more than a decade ago. The transcript here helps point that out, but doesn't give the full effect that audio and visual add. movies
