United States - Indiana - My dear old home

Indiana was my home for the first 39 years of my life. Now when I go back to visit I am blown away by the beauty that I took for granted for so many years.
This was taken in South Bend, Indiana. It's the Studebaker Mansion (Tippecanoe Place).

The Lanier Home in Madison, Indiana.. Historical site. Part of the underground railroad during the Civil War. Lots of tragedy befell the Lanier family. I believe the house is haunted.

U.S. government did not trust the neutrality of the Miamis & US forces attacked Kekionga during the Northwest Indian War. Each attack was repulsed. St. Clair's Defeat was the worst defeat of an American army by Native Americans in U.S. history. This ended with the Battle of Fallen Timbers and Treaty of Greenville. Those Miami who still resented the United States gathered around Ouiatenon and Prophetstown, where Shawnee Chief Tecumseh led a coalition of Native American nations.

Indiana, one of the most education reform-minded states in recent years, is postponing implementation of the Common Core initiative so that there can be more discussion on the quality and impact of the standards.
