Ontario Northland's new 'strap' cars 100507 & 100508 are currently working non-stop on the 421-622 Polar Bear while 100509 is currently under construction in Cochrane Shops. On Feb. 6th we catch 100510 after arriving from North Bay completely stripped of her original decking and painted in a coat of flat black ready for her turn to be customized as a 'strap' car.
Winter is fuel hauling time for DeBeers Victor Diamond Mine in Attawapiskat and here we see a seemingly endless string of tank cars at Cochrane Yard February 6th ready to roll to Moosonee where the fuel will be transferred to trucks for the rest of the journey to the mine.
Plow 560 is spotted on Cochrane Shops rip track Feb. 10th. Could we be seeing a plow extra coming soon?
Here's a sky view of the grinding ball transfer area at Cochrane Yard captured February 10th. These grinding balls are used to pulverize rock in order to get to gold at Detour Gold north of Cochrane. The grinding balls arrive in gondolas and are transferred to the specially built compartments you see here. Trucks will haul the grinding balls to the mine via the private road also seen in the photo.

We're at the south side of Cochrane Shops on February 22, 2014 where we're greeted by a wide variety of equipment. On the left, spreader 529 sits quietly now complete with new flags on her front end while GP38-2 1801 sits on Shop #1. GP9 1601 is being used to bring GP38-2 1806 into Shop #3, and APU 205 sits on Shop #4 with 2 coaches ready for a 999 to Moosonee later in the day.
We're along Cochrane's rip track April 17, 2015 where we see some newly rebuilt wheel sets recently delivered from the Wheel Shop at North Bay ready to replace damaged or worn wheel sets that happen to enter ONR territory.
Believe it or not, this is April 23rd, 2015. We're at the historic silver mining community of Cobalt along the Temagami Subdivision as Wayne, Jeff, and Craig run SD75I's 2105 & 2101 and SD40-2 1734 for all they're worth as 214's 94 cars are pulled uphill while the train journeys south from Englehart to North Bay.
