Arc Relic - photoframe
Arc Relic is a beech wood arc-shaped frame, hand-bent by Mariëlle van Swam. Inspired by Greek shrines, this frame creates a holy, though not necessarily religious place to worship relics: memorials of something past. In collaboration with Ontwerpstudio van Swam.

WIG – Ontwerpstudio van Swam The Wedge. In the past this technique was often used to secure or clamp. In essence a useful and simple solution but unfortunately nowadays you see less often. The ingenious ways of the past have remarkable beauty, and it would be a shame to let this disappear. By using the wedge as a connection tool in an outdoor furniture piece, the wedge becomes visible again in our daily use.
