Juan Diego Flórez, (Tenor) Known for his roles in bel-canto operas and active on the concert stages of Europe and North and South America. He studied with Ernesto Palacios and Marilyn Horne at the Music Academy of the West. He has received the Premio Abbati (awarded by the Italian critics), the Rossini d'oro, the Bellini d'oro, the Premio Aureliano Pertile, and in 2001, the Tamagno Prize and the L'Opera Award for his performance at La Scala. Florez was born in Lima, PERU.
