Among her best-known films are Anatomy of a Murder (1959), Days of Wine and Roses (1962), and The Omen (1976). Remick died on July 2, at her home in Los Angeles of kidney cancer. She was cremated and her ashes given to family and friends.

    Pier Angeli: Fragile and sensitive. The actress lost the love of her life (james Dean) and never really got over it. Pier's career began to loose steam in the mid 60's. Depression and drugs soon sent her over the edge. She was reduced to starring in the low budget dreadful monster film called "Octoman". Pier died from a barbiturate overdose / suicide after many attempts in 1971. MH

In 1955, plagued by ill health, she committed suicide at the age of 51 with an overdose of barbiturates in her apartment in New York. A note found next to her deathbed read, “This is the only way I know to be free again…Please don’t follow me.”

    May 25th, 1990 - Vic Tayback, actor (Mel-Alice), died at 60. Tayback's most famous role was diner owner Mel Sharples in both the 1974 movie Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and in the television series, Alice, which ran from 1976 to 1985. He was the only actor of the original film to reprise his role in the series. Tayback died of a hear attack and was interred at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles.
