Grammar activity after reading "How The Grinch Stole Christmas". I just think this would be a great activity for any book... to work in small groups.

This is another video from Scholastic showing the children what life in the Pilgrim village was like. (Great segment for comparing and contrasting... fits well with "long ago and today.") The First Thanksgiving: Virtual Field Trips, Videos, and Slideshow

This is a really cool project-based approach to the story "Stone Soup." The class read different versions of the story and then made and ate their own stone soup and wrote their own version of the story. Students could do a lot of research on legends and traditions, as well as about recipes and cookbooks and how to make soup.
