Agnes Richter, a patient in an Austrian mental asylum in the 1890's, spent her days embroidering text onto her hospital uniform jacket, in an attempt to record her life story. She had been a seamstress prior to her incarceration, and painstakingly covered every inch of its surface, inside and out. The jacket is now safely kept in an archival box to preserve it, from an institutional uniform, to a fascinating and touching work of art.
