Lucy's psychiatry booth is a running gag in the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Lucy van Pelt is the manager of a psychiatric booth, which the other characters come up to tell her their problems, and, like a psychiatrist or a psychologist, she gives them advice. It is a parody of the lemonade stands operated by many young children in the United States
Remember the Peanuts® comic strip with Lucy Van Pelt sitting behind her lemonade stand office, dishing out advice for a mere five cents a session? Description from lime-creative.com. I searched for this on bing.com/images

I'm reading the Andrew Collins book "Where Did It All Go Right". It's based on diaries he kept as a boy growing up in Northampton in the seventies. Quite amusing in parts and filled with great nostalgic detail about a time when I was a similar age. He briefly mentions a list of his favourite Peanuts characters (the cartoon by Charles M. Schulz for those who don't know). It brought back some memories for me and had the inevitable result ... 1. Linus 2. Schroeder 3. Woodstock 4. Snoopy 5. Lucy van Pelt I think there's a little of Linus in all of us. No place for Charlie Brown but without him none of these characters would have any meaning.

I have added and changed some of the following forms. Please click below to see the new and revised forms. Google Docs There are days/weeks that I feel like I am juggling a million things as a school counselor. I have been looking for a system that will help me balance all of the facets of the job. Below are some things I am currently using to help with this task. I am constantly tweaking the organizational things that I use, but these things have helped me tremendously. I just started using a Counseling Notebook to help me keep everything handy and organized. Inside: Lesson Plans: I wanted to have a place where I could see my whole week's worth of lessons for Group Counseling, Individual Counseling, and Classroom Guidance. This is what I have come up with. This has been one of the best things I have done! I type on mine and print it after I have planned for the week. Scroll to the bottom of this post for the documents. This is an ongoing list of students I see throughout the day. I jot them down because I get very busy but then can go back and make more detailed notes if needed. This is the log that I currently use. I keep track of any communication I have with Parents/Guardians. I have ABC tabs that I keep these sheets in for quick and easy access. This is the form from my district that I am currently using but will probably tweak it. I am also planning on adding a more detailed notes page for students who I see more frequently or need more notes on. I am working on this and will post it when I am finished with it. If you are interested in copies of any or all of my forms (some have been updated) I've shared them here. Google Docs Do you have a Counseling Notebook? If so, how do you organize it?

Failure to ensure children have the basic conditions for a good childhood is one of the most costly mistakes a society can make. The heaviest toll is borne by the children themselves. The UN Committee for child rights encouraged Canada to further its efforts to translate the Convention on the Rights of the Child into concrete change for Canadian kids.
