flora-file: Succulent Flower Cluster (by Coastal Photography) Succulents are more than just funny little orbs of spikes and spirals. Case in point: these Echeveria flowers, sprung from hens and chicks, look like fruit snacks.
A beloved annual from South Africa, these hybrid Gazania bring pinwheels of vivid color to hot, sunny pots and beds. These tidy, mounding plants are everblooming and bring color to your yard even in the hottest "dog days" of late summer.
Indoor Tulips - Fill glass container about with glass marbles or decorative rocks. Set tulip bulb on top of marbles or stones; pointed end up, add more marbles or rocks; so bulb is surrounded but not covered. Pour fresh water into the container.
Gazanias (a type of African daisy) are one of my favorite flowers to plant in the garden. They are easy to care for, hardy, and bloom profusely for multiple months. I& not sure if they would grow well in SD, but they were wonderful in OR.
