"Bush School - Nature Education in Australia" Precious Childhood. Fantastic post - it shows how children can learn every area of the curriculum in the natural environment - and have fun while doing so. Literacy, numeracy, science, environmental studies ... it's all here, and it's all real and meaningful to the children. Originally Pinned by Alec Duncan of childsplaymusic.c...

One of my favorite ideas for teaching sentence structure and punctuation. Sentence Surgery…laminated unedited sentence strips, bandaid strips for ending punctuation, small round bandages for commas and quotations, tongue depressors to mark capitalization, and ‘Emergency Kit’ paper bags w/ red cross on them (to keep surgery supplies). Can be adjusted to use K-6…the kids loved it!
