How do we keep our homes from getting dirty and dusty so the sun can shine in and we won't be ashamed of it? Many women really struggle with keeping their homes clean and have asked me for my advice since my post A Clean Home is a Pretty Home. First, get rid of clutter. Buy Clutter's Last Stand, read it and figure out what to keep and what to get rid of. A clutter-free home is MUCH easier to keep clean than a cluttered one.

We are all looking for ways to be better homemakers. What if you took the perspective that your homemaking was part of your worship - would it change the way you approach it? Your attitude toward it?

makes me a bit sad..."Mom and daughter sharing chores I remember being a little girl and helping my mom make beds and clean daily. We had such a net house. Every Saturday we would give the house a deep cleaning while dad was doing yard work. My how things have changed not only in my house, but also in my parents. I have to say, it is all for the good."

"My mother had already brought up 13 children. For more than 20 years, she'd been locked into a hellish cycle of washing, ironing and housework, 365 days a year. She thought, rightly, that she'd done her duty. The two little ones, twins Paul and Pauline, were about to go to school and at last she'd have some time to herself. At last she'd be able to go out, perhaps go travelling with my father and revisit the area where they were both brought up."
