The sound of a Rolls Royce Merlin engine (or engines) is one never to be forgotten. First remember them in the 1950s, then heard them again in a Mosquito over Petters in Hampshire many years later. Then in a Lancaster Bomber at the RAFA show at Shoreham, Sussex, in 2015. A second was due to appear, but had problems at RAF Coningsby, I gather. Flown in many aircraft to & from, & in & around Africa & Europe.
