Good Reads: Spring Reading List The Language of Flowers- Vanessa Diffenbaugh
Worth Reading, Language Of Flowers, Book Club, Foster Care, Book Worth, Vanessa Diffenbaugh, Red Rose, Languages Of Flower, Fiction Book
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh is the March selection for the Rossland Branch book club. Victoria Jones, 18 and now out of the foster care system, is unable to get close to other people. She realizes that she has a gift for helping others through flowers, but a mysterious stranger has her questioning what has been missing from her life.
Interesting book, as much for the Victorian "language of flowers" as the plot. Worth reading.

The Language of Flowers: A Novel by Vanessa Diffenbaugh, http://www.amazon.com/dp/0345525558/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_nfEZtb1MC8H1C This book wasn't the best written book I've read but it touched my heart strings in a compassionate manner and as a mother. I also learned a tremendous amount about the meanings of flowers. For example: honeysuckle for devotion, asters for patience, and red roses for love.

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. So much better than the movie--which was also excellent.
Fried Green Tomatoes the movie and the book!
I have read this book several times. I think it is a great interputation of how some people viewed the old south. There are other Fannie Flagg books as good as this one, the first to come to mind is "Welcome to the World Baby Girl"
